Bowspring & Fertility

Bowspring is a movement practice developed by Desi Springer and taught by incredible educators like Paris Latka, and at its core, it focuses on elongation and creating space throughout the body.

When you look at how most of us move through daily life, there’s a lot of compression built in. Sitting for long periods, driving, working at a computer, and even the way we’ve been taught to “hold” our posture often leads to collapse in certain areas of the body.

Bowspring works in the opposite direction.

Instead of tucking, gripping, or flattening the body, it teaches you how to gently open and support your natural curves so your body can move with more ease and resilience.

One of the most helpful ways to understand it is through what Bowspring calls its “algorithm,” which is essentially how you organize your body.

It starts with the central channel, which includes your spine and the space around it. From there, it expands outward to the rib cage (often referred to as the “radiant heart”) and then into the hips, shoulders, and limbs. Rather than isolating one area at a time, you’re learning how everything works together, creating a feeling of lift, lightness, and connection throughout your whole body.

The goal isn’t to force perfect posture.

It’s to create a body that is strong, flexible, and supported at the same time, where you’re not relying on tension to hold yourself up, but instead using alignment and space.

This is a big reason why we’ve chosen to include Bowspring inside our program.

It can help you:

  • Create more space in the pelvis
  • Improve alignment and reduce unnecessary strain
  • Build strength without rigidity
  • Feel more connected to your body and how it moves

And when it comes to fertility, pregnancy, and birth, this matters more than most people realize. The more awareness and space you can create in your body, the more supported you are not only during pregnancy, but also during labor and recovery postpartum.

We love this practice because it’s simple, it’s supportive, and it gives you a completely different way of understanding your body.
