Thyroid, Immune Function, and Recurrent Loss

There’s a certain kind of exhaustion that comes with trying month after month, especially after experiencing loss, where you’re doing everything you can to support your body but still feel like you’re missing something important.

At the same time, you’re showing up, researching, making changes, and trying to stay hopeful, even when it feels hard to trust what’s next.

Holding space for both of those things really matters.

We want to share a story with you today, not because your journey will look exactly like hers, but because sometimes it helps to see what’s possible when we take a more complete and intentional approach.

This client came to us after almost three years of trying to conceive, with a history of three unexplained miscarriages, and after her last loss she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and experienced what was described as a “perfect thyroid storm,” along with long-standing migraines, daily body aches, and clear signs of immune and inflammatory stress.

And like many women we work with, she wasn’t doing nothing, she was already supporting herself and had a strong foundation, but there were still key pieces of the picture that hadn’t been fully addressed.

So instead of adding more, we focused on getting more specific and more strategic with what her body actually needed.

We supported her thyroid in a way that helped her body feel safe enough to sustain a pregnancy, we worked on calming her immune system and histamine response since that was driving her migraines and flares, we addressed deeper mineral imbalances including a calcium shell pattern and stored iron, and we supported her gut with gentle H. pylori work since she was still symptomatic.

We also made lifestyle shifts on both sides, including reducing THC use for both her and her partner, because when you’ve experienced recurrent loss it is so important to look at both partners and the full picture rather than focusing on just one piece.

Over time, things started to shift in a way that felt more stable and sustainable, her migraines which used to be daily became minimal, her immune system became more regulated, her thyroid stabilized to the point where she was no longer considered hyperthyroid, and we were able to support her body in moving stored iron and mobilizing copper in a way that she could actually tolerate.

And most importantly, she conceived and is now 32 weeks pregnant and has had a healthy pregnancy so far.

We’re sharing this with you because we know how easy it is to feel stuck in the unknown, especially when you feel like you’ve already tried so much, but what we’ve seen over and over again is that when you stop guessing and start connecting the dots between things like minerals, gut health, immune function, and hormones, you create a much clearer and more supportive path forward.

If you’re in this season, just know we’re holding space for you in it, and also that there is still so much possibility here.
